My role

Working closely with my fellow designers, Product Design Lead, and the VP of Product, I was responsible for solving complex challenges across 3 core areas of the experience:

Increase user engagement and confidence, reducing financial stress, by keeping members up-to-date on critical information related to their various products.

Promote product adoption by better communicating the benefits of Mogo products and how they fit within the 4 habits holistic approach.

Redesign the main dashboard to align with MoneyUp's 4 financial habits with a focus on reducing clutter and increasing clarity around specific product goals.

Main dashboard redesign

I was responsible for improving the core experience of the Mogo main dashboard to better align with Mogo's 4 financial habits while clearly communicating the benefits of each product. I streamlined the product cells for Mogo's core products and created flexible components and standards that handled a large number of scenarios — enabling members to get a quick overview of their Mogo account.

I also led the UI and interaction design for the redesign across all platforms, creating high-fidelity prototypes and animations for testing and delivery.

Notifications and in-app messaging

In collaboration with product and engineering, I helped define a communication strategy for how Mogo could engage and inform users with timely and relevant notifications and in-app messages — leveraging the dashboard to scale engagement and keep members informed about their financial health.

Methods

Defined notification best practices across platforms

Researched user needs and pain points

Extensively documented existing communication and refined the communication strategy removing any notifications that weren’t critical to user goals.

Conducted multiple rounds of user testing to refine the design direction

Created components and detailed standards for development
